Here is an example of an action research.

After reading an example of a classroom-based action research, answer the following questions. Expound and discuss your answers. 1. Whatexactly is the classroom problem that Melinda wanted to help address or solve? It is the noise that the students has been creating. I may also add the students’ low participation. 2.What processes helped Melinda to think of the possible causes why a problem exists? She asked for help from her cooperating teacher and made a research from the library and internet. 3.What processes heled Melinda to think of an action, which if implemented, will help address or solve the classroom problem? Based from the results from her research regarding the factors that may affect the students’ behavior, she pinned most accurate factor that affects the students that she had observed and from that, she think of a way to address this issue. 4.What exactly was the action that Melinda wanted to implement? It is an action that would solve the problem that she had observed. It is what I may say a solution to eradicate or at least lessen the high-level noise that the students are creating. 5.What was the expectation of Melinda regarding the effect of the action she wanted to implement? She expected that monitoring students' activities in remedial sessions had a positive effect on learners' behavior and the problem which is high-level noise is likely to be solved or at least lessened. 6.What processes did Melinda employ to find out if her expectation regarding the effect of the action is confirmed? She asked for assistance from her co-intern, someone who will observe the students and note down the number of times they exhibited the behaviors that is inclined to the occurrence of high-level noise. 7.What are the results of the implementation of the action? The implementation of guidelines, assistance and monitoring lessened the occurrence of high-level noise and resulted to the improvement of learning outcomes. 8.What are the conclusions deduced from the classroom-based action research? We can conclude that the usage of guidelines, assistance and monitoring can deduce the high-level noise and can also contribute to the betterment of the student learning outcomes such as completing the task within the given period of time. We may encounter other problems within the classroom and a classroom-based action research is a way to find answer through the application of the scientific method just like what Nuñez & Navarro said in 2015.
