This semester, we are able to do few of what a real teacher does in this time of pandemic. Unlike in Field Study 1 where I am a passive participant, here, I am able to be of use in the teaching field. It is experiencing a glimpse of what a teacher does in reality during this time of pandemic. I am able to share my thoughts, to interact with the students and to use what I have learned so far. Facing the reality of teaching virtually, I have encountered problems and new learnings. Since we don't do reports anymore, it felt new to me, searching and preparing for a lesson or a topic. What's advantageous in online learning is that we have an enormous list of resources and the only hassle we face is determining the correct and applicable source to use. I have also learned that as a contributor of learning, we should be flexible so if ever a problem arises, we can provide solutions to save learning time. I was also reminded of the things that should be considered in teaching. The topic, the resources, the materials, the delivery and most importantly, the audience. I have been exposed to tutorials with different ages and it helped me lessen my anxiety in public speaking and also helped me to know how to handle them. Add the fact that they are only on screen so my confidence has been boosted. I have learned a lot in this field study and I am happy to say that I am able to accomplish my mission for this course. It really is important to be exposed to reality before getting right through it. I was able to know the challenges that I might face when I do my practice teaching. It made me realize the importance of being so prepared before conducting a class. It starts with classroom management, resources and materials for instructions, and assessing students' learnings. Teaching can be an easier task if it is well planned. However, anything can go wrong especially now that we are subscribing to distance learning so being a flexible teacher is a must. Not everyone can be so excellent at handling class at first try. It is impossible but with preparation and experience, I firmly believe we can get there.
