Learning Experience 8: The Teacher as an Implementor of Purposeful Assessment

Learning Experience 8 is an experiential journey that enables us to see the application of the concepts, principles, and processes we have acquired in Assessment of Learning courses. It will allow us to carry out a guided information gathering process related to assessment, get insights from the information gathered, and internalize and self-direct our plans as a future teachers in the field of classroom assessment.

1. Below are some practices of the teachers do after testing. Can you give a good reason for this practice? Of what good are these practices to learners? What significant principle of assessment is being illustrates in these practices?



1. Given the testing principles you have learned from your interview with the teachers, write down which practices you will adopt. Explain.

I think almost all will be adopted. Doing assessments every now and then, checking, recording, announcing the scores, and returning test papers to students, discussing their common mistakes, and clearing misconceptions. The mentioned above are what I assumed vital and also aligned with the assessment principles that’s why I will follow them. Based on my opinion, these are what should be done in conducting tests.
